Beydag Range
- West Taurus
At
the western end of the Taurus Mountain Chain is the Beydag Range.
These mountains that rise immediately from the Turkish Riviera (Antalya-Kemer-Fethiye)
to 3000 meters above sea level, constitute a fabulous sight.
This
thickly wooded area is the home and the last shelter of Mediterranean
Cedar trees. Beydag Range is in the heart of Antique Lykia, where
remains of many ancient cities like Thermesos, Xantos, Myra, Olympos
and Phaselis are an attraction to visitors.
Highest
peaks are Kizlarsivrisi (3070 m), Uyluk Tepe (3015 m) and Bakirdag
(2774 m).
This
area is suitable for winter and summer trekking as well as a variety
of activities, such as mountain biking, rafting, canyonning, para-gliding,
yachting, scuba diving, sea kayaking.
