Bolkar Range - Central Taurus

Bolkar, meaning "abundant snow" is a popular skiing area during winter. During summer months the mountains are a superb trekking area, with their very green landscape and small blue lakes that sparkle under the Mediterranean sun. Nomadic people camping at the region for summer and their grazing sheep add a colorful touch to Bolkar Mountains.

The important peaks are Medetsiz (3524 m), Aydos (3488 m) and Kesif (3475 m). Mediterranean sides of the mountains are covered with forests. The range is suitable for outdoor activities all year through.
