Cilo-Sat Ranges

Cilo-Sat Mountains are at the southeastern part of Turkey, close to the Iranian and Iraqi borders. These immense mountains have dozens of summits above 3500 meters. The highest peak of the Cilo Range is Resko (4168 m), which has a wall of 800 meters. Hard limestone and granite rocks, glaciers with waterfalls underneath enable all kinds of hard rock and ice climbing. The largest glacier is Izbirak, which is five kilometers long, 500 meters wide and nearly 100 meters in depth. Another important peaks are Suppadirek (4116 m), Köse Diregi (3918 m), Kadin Parmagi (3858 m), Göl Sivrisi (3626 m).

While offering various possibilities to climbers, Cilo and Sat are also suitable for mountain walkers, who wish to contemplate the beauty of nature. Sat Mountains are even more attractive with many glacier lakes, green valleys and historical rock pictures dating back to 5000 B.C.
