Mount Suphan
Mt. Suphan (4058
m) is a volcanic cone at eastern Anatolia, overlooking Lake Van
from the northwest. The mountain, which is usually reached via town
of Adilcevaz, enables a beautiful view of the lake while climbing.
Suphan is good for summer ascents and skiing in early spring.
Mount Nemrut
Mt. Nemrut (2935
m) also close to the lake is of interest to mountaineers with its
large crater lake, the hot and cool water springs within the crater
and its particular flora.
