PROFESSIONAL PERIOD (1985 - )

In 1985 he started working professionally for mountain tourism. Working in collaboration with local and foreign travel agencies to popularize mountain tourism in Turkey, he planned and organized trekking, skiing and climbing tours, marketed them and acted as guide to the following agencies:

AMATEUR PERIOD (1966 - 1985)

Uçman Sungur took up mountaineering in 1966, when he was a young university student. It soon became a passion and he has devoted considerable of his time and effort to mountaineering both during his years as a student and later as a professional producer in Turkish TV. He produced several documentaries related to mountains. His articles and photographs related to mountain tourism and his activities were published in the daily press and magazines.

During this period he organised group ascents to the following mountains under both summer and winter conditions;

Mt.Ararat 5137 m, Mt.Suphan 4058 m, Mt.Erciyes 3917 m, Cilo-Sat Range (Resko 4168 m, Köse Diregi 3918 m, Göl Sivrisi 3626 m), Kaçkar Ranges (Kaçkar 3932 m), Munzur Range (Akbaba 3462 m), Aladag Range Central Taurus (Kaldi 3734 m, Engin Tepe 3723 m, Cebel 3630 m, Lahit Kaya 3452 m), Bolkar Range Central Taurus (Medetsiz 3524 m, Kesif 3475 m), Beydag Range West Taurus (Kizlar Sivrisi 3070 m, Uyluk Tepe 3015 m, Bakirdagi 2774 m).
